Gemini
May 21st - June 21st

Mercury the wing-footed messenger of the zodiac rules Gemini, the astrological twins. And
speaking of Mercury, have you ever had the opportunity to observe the erratic qualities of
“quick-silver” in motion? Well, the fact is that if you try to hold on tightly to a pool of
Mercury, it will dissolve instantly into a myriad of tiny silver balls and escape through your
fingers. Just Like Mercury,it’s virtually impossible to restrain the unpredictable movements
of a Gemini.
The primary characteristic of a Gemini is their duality, and that is why their symbol is the
twins. Because of their dual nature, they are simply not capable of being consistent in
thought or in action. You see, Gemini’s perceive that there are two sides to everything
and the fact is they are usually right, there are. And this is why Geminis have the reputation
of being brilliant communicators. They genuinely can identify and have the ability to see
both sides of any situation. They are also capable of doing two or more things at once,
which is not easy. Have you ever tried to cook, watch television and talk on the phone at the
same time. Well, a Gemini can and does frequently. Not that this behaviour does not take
its toll on a Geminis delicate nervous system - it does, and the result is a Gemini will often
suffer from nervous troubles and insomnia when they just can’t switch their brain engine off
when it’s time to get some shut eye. The key phrase for Gemini is "I think” and as such
Gemini is the communicator of the zodiac, the poet, bard and storyteller. They
'think on their feet'. Geminis are in love with the thought processes of the mind and the
creative power of language. Consequently, you’ll find many Geminis in the fast paced ever-
changing world of the media, like radio or journalism. And because they love movement,
you’ll find them drawn to travel. Encompassing both worlds, you’ll find many a Gemini living
the life of the travelling salesman who can talk the legs of a chair and sell ice cream to the
Eskimos in a variety of languages. They love to talk but the problem is once they’ve talked
about something or written about it, they think they have done it. Geminis must constantly
make the choice between waffling, wit or wisdom.
It’s really not wise to try to pin down a Gemini as they can become absolutely asthmatic
when they can’t escape a confining situation. They truly need to exercise those Mercurial
winged-feet. Their beauty is as elusive and fascinating as a butterfly and having spent some
time around the butterfly, you may even discover you have grown your own wings.
