Pisces

20th Feb – 21st March

Pisceans are the “dreamers” of the zodiac and are generally extremely perceptive, emotional,
creative, compassionate and empathetic souls.  On the other hand, there are many many species of
‘fish in the sea’…everything from the goldfish to the whale…So, in many ways to define the elusive
Piscean journey of discovery through Astrology is near impossible to do in just a short article.
Pisces symbol, the fish, suggests the nature of the Piscean spirit.  Fish dwell in the enigmatic
dimension of ‘water’, beyond our realm of ‘earthly’ life. Fish eyes are always open, which allows them
their remarkable perception but also causes them to be vulnerable and overly sensitive. They are
very deep, compassionate people, experiencing intuitively the pain and suffering of others.
Naturally, being so absorbent and impressionable means that they can easily soak up the moods
and emotions from everyone around them, being somewhat of a ‘psychic sponge’.  Eventually for
their own peace of mind they should develop some protective techniques in learning how to employ
some detachment from other people’s energies. Nonetheless, more than any other sign, Pisces truly
understands the letting go of the illusion of separateness.  Many Pisceans as a result are drawn to
Mysticism as they have a deep yearning for some other reality beyond ordinary existence.  Pisceans
for the most part are usually incredibly imaginative and envision how things should be rather than
how they are and this ability can give rise to profound and extraordinary abilities as many brilliant
scientists, mystics, talented actors, artists and musicians are born with planets in this constellation.
Pisces is a complicated sign represented by two fish trying to swim in opposite directions. This is
their dilemma, not knowing which way to turn, which direction to go. Should they swim upstream
against the tide in the direction of their dreams or resist the challenge and go with the flow? In
essence, this image denotes the problem Pisces must solve in connecting stark reality with their
dreams of the sublime. The fish swimming against the stream represents the powerful Pisces
potential through FAITH. They can be as mighty as ‘sharks’, captivating as ‘dolphins’, charismatic
and strong leaders with vision and clarity or they can give up and get carried down the stream of
false illusions. Some Pisceans may become prone to addictions in order to numb their extra-
sensitive feelings though this only weakens them further allowing them to absorb even more negative
energy which can lead to their becoming doormats and martyrs to others. Pisces may indeed choose
‘escapism’ in dealing with the harsher realities of life, but it is far better for them and often their
purpose to believe and follow their divinely inspired visions and subtle prophetic dreams in order to
find a way to manifest them into actuality. …..Yes, ‘Dreams can come true’.
